I was brought to the land of opportunity at the age of 13. I am now a 22 year old student who is working towards a degree in political science. I hope to go to graduate school and work to make a difference in people's lives. But all of this won't be possible without a piece of legislation called the DREAM Act. I am, for now, still stuck between a dream and reality.
"Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: - 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." - Martin Luther King Jr.
"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." - RFK
